VIDEO: Americans Can't Explain Independence Day

Good lord. This right here, guys, this is why our great nation is in trouble. The education system in the United States has failed us SO MISERABLY, that to many of us the year 1776 is a complete mystery. MANY OF US DO NOT EVEN KNOW WHO WE DECLARED INDEPENDENCE FROM. This is mind-boggling. Can you even imagine another country being so terribly, suffocatingly ignorant on the subject of their own freedom? In most other countries, the people are vividly, severely aware of their enemies, past and present. Here in the States, we are at war with ourselves over who we should be fighting and who have fought in the past and whether these battles are right or wrong. We are so worried about what is right and what is wrong that we have forgotten about who gave us the freedom to BE right or wrong! Instead of educating our children on the founding of the very place we live, we focus on flawed systems--like Common Core--and the histories of other countries over our very own! As most of us know, “Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it." And the way it's looking right now, that quote may prove to be accurate. How could a population possibly notice signs of tyranny if they've never studied it? How could they possibly recognize a dangerously overbearing government if they never knew one existed in the past? These threats don't seem real to people because they have no knowledge of what to compare them to. There are those in this country who want our population to be ignorant on these subjects. They want them to forget who we are and where we came from. They do not want them to know the names of our Founding Fathers or which country we fought. They do not want children to be proud of the obstacles we have overcome or of the battles we've won. THESE PEOPLE are the enemy of the United States. They are the ones who do not respect our freedoms, our liberties, or our history. They would sooner turn our safety over to the United Nations than see America defend herself against foreign threats. The real threat comes from within. As Abraham Lincoln said, "America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

Wake up, America. You're destroying yourself.
