History, style, and patriotism combined for an ultra-comfy Summertime shirt.
The 13 stars adorning this shirt happen to make up the flag that flew over George Washington's Headquarters in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. The flag is also known as the Valley Forge Flag and is thought to have been the standard of the army in 1781. The 13 six-pointed stars on the flag represent the 13 Original Colonies. Washington's signature can be seen at bottom of the shirt and a new version of our 76 logo is centered on the back.
Our shirts run a little small and are athletic fit so if you are in-between sizes or are unsure, please order up one size.
We created 1776 United to evoke a sense of patriotism found in our forefathers. Most have forgotten to ask themselves not what their country can do for them, but what they can do for their country.
Our dream is to inspire a new wave of patriotism that might lead to the next Greatest Generation. We aim for the clothing we create to embody the many chapters of American history. Each shirt is a cotton reminder of who we are, where we live, and where we're going.
Took me years to find out that the trick to buying my husband clothes he loves (and doesn't just lovingly tolerate) was to buy from the brands he always shops. Easy for me, that's like, two stores, the top of which is 1776. He wishlisted this shirt a while ago and thoughtful me noticed the FB ad for it at a discounted price. Thoughtful me is now turned-on me as he looks freaking awesome in this shirt, fit, and color. Now I have confidence buying him shirts again, especially from this brand, which keeps on giving. Instant Time Travel.
Once you put this shirt on, you'll travel back in time to the days of our Founding Fathers. George Washington will shake your hand and by you a beer at the local tavern. (Not really) Shirt is made of quality material and feels great against my DadBod. I ordered a size up and it's a little big but overall I am very happy with my purchase.
The shirts are outstanding quality. Additionally, customer service was professional, respectful, and all exchanges were done very quickly by mail.
- Suggestion if it helps any future buyers: Try a size up on the shirts. For me, a size up fit perfectly even after several washes.
I love this shirt! The material is very soft and comfortable. The sewing is professional and the design is cool. It is a fitted shirt that fits me well. I will definitely buy more.
