A few years ago we quietly changed the shirts we print on. If you have been with us since the early days, you probably noticed, because a whole lot of you emailed us about it. We moved away from the tee that built this brand and switched to Bella Canvas, and we told the story of why at the time. But if you missed it, here is the short version.

Supply problems after covid were part of it, but the bigger issue came when testing revealed that some of Next Level's cotton traced back to a banned region of China tied to slave labor. Next Level has always cut and sewn their shirts in Nicaragua, and we never had a problem with that. But Chinese slave labor cotton in the supply chain was a line we were not going to cross. Not as a brand called 1776 United. So we walked away from the best fitting shirt we ever sold, and we did not look back.

But you never let us forget it. For three years, the most common message in our inbox has been some version of the same question. "When are you bringing back the old shirts?" We heard every single one of you.

Next Level went to work, and they earned their way back. They now use 100 percent US grown cotton across their entire fabric supply. They partner with Oritain, a forensic science company that verifies cotton origin like a DNA test, and they joined the US Cotton Trust Protocol, a traceability program for verified American cotton. American grown cotton, sewn in Nicaragua, verified by independent scientists. Their sourcing today is among the strongest in the entire industry.

If you know, you know. True to size, a clean fitted cut that holds its shape wash after wash, and that buttery soft, broken in feel right out of the package. It is the shirt that made so many of you fall in love with this brand in the first place, and in our opinion it is hands down the best shirt we sell.

Same designs, same printing, same price it was three years ago.
