On March 5, 1770, tensions between Boston colonists and occupying British soldiers boiled over and a riot broke out, resulting in the shooting deaths of several patriots. Among them; Samuel Gray, Samuel Maverick, James Caldwell, and a former slave turned sailor named Crispus Attucks.

The event spawned a trial, in which the British soldiers were represented by future President John Adams and eventually acquitted and released.

'The Bloody Massacre in King-Street' as it was then known, was one of the main precursors to the Revolutionary War.

Our shirt features the coffins of the four patriots killed on-site, with custom tag at bottom and 'Liberty or Death' on back.

***Some people have asked why we do not include the other two men in this design who died 2 weeks later, and then 10 years later. Our design it based on a historic piece of art that was created right after the event. We added the date and initials of the men who immediately died in the event. Patrick Carr died two weeks later, and Christopher Monk was crippled by his wounds but died ten years after the event. Our coffins represent the 4 who died immediately from the event and as mentioned are actually based on an old newspaper that was printed a few days after the event. Link is below!

Our shirts run a little small and are athletic fit so if you are in between sizes or are unsure, please order up one size.

Ultra Soft Tri-Blend (50% Polyester / 25% Cotton / 25% Rayon) construction.

***This shirt is thinner and lighter than our normal shirts because of the Tri-Blend vintage construction. Please be aware it's a little more slim-fitting than a regular t-shirt -- you may have to order up one size.

This one went right to the top of the stack... a stack of many 1776 United gear, that is!

Great design and back story

I love the design on the shirt and the backstory, but have one complaint. The shirt is short for a large, but fits everywhere else. I don’t want to go up a size to fix the length issue because then I’m worried it would be too big at the chest and shoulders. Hopefully this is a problem with this batch and future prints of this design won’t have this problem.

What a badass design! Plus the details, L or D on back, snake cartoon tag sewn at front bottom.
