This is a past Tee Party Shirt - September 2020

Samuel Nicholas, the Captain of the Marines. Since the Marines Birthday is in November, we wanted to commemorate them and do a shirt on someone who can be regarded as the founding father of the Marines. Samuel Nicholas was the first officer commissioned in the United States Continental Marines and by tradition is considered to be the first Commandant of the Marine Corps. Served from 1773-1783 when they were known as the Continental Marines. Three United States Navy ships have been named in his honor and on November 10th each year (The Marines Birthday) a wreath is laid at dawn on his grave.

This is our new relaxed fit for women. This is the perfect fitting tee and runs true to size. Perfect to tie up, crop or style it any way you want!

About 1776 United

We created 1776 United to evoke a sense of patriotism found in our forefathers. Most have forgotten to ask themselves not what their country can do for them, but what they can do for their country.

Our dream is to inspire a new wave of patriotism that might lead to the next Greatest Generation. We aim for the clothing we create to embody the many chapters of American history. Each shirt is a cotton reminder of who we are, where we live, and where we're going.

Recently read about the history of marine corps and captain Nicholas. Ofcourse, once I read it and since my son is named Nicholas who also happens to be a United States Marine I simply had to have it. Love sharing the story… keep making unique pieces that foster a love for both learning and history
