Connecticut's Nathan Hale is famous as the young spy who regretted that "I have but one life to lose for my country" when he was captured and executed by British troops in 1776. He volunteered for an intelligence-gathering mission in New York City but was captured by the British and executed. Hale has long been considered an American hero and, in 1985, he was officially designated the state hero of Connecticut.

Pure Awesomeness

Another great transaction with 1776 united. This print is stunning, bold, and highly detailed. I'm confident it will hold these fine qualities for many years to come. Hale is one of my favorite people in American history! Please put his likeness and quotes on clothing and other items =).....one other random thought, how about Teddy Roosevelt too, and/or his "man in the arena" quote. Keep up the great work 1776 united!
